John Vlahakis was born in Philadelphia, PA.  As a 2nd Generation American, having Grandparents that were emigrants from Greece, he was raised seeing how those he loved were marginalized and passed over because of their emigrant origins.  During his formative years, he was raised in Nashville, TN.  Mr. Vlahakis attended David Lipscomb High School, in Nashville, TN, graduating in 1978. Mr. Vlahakis received his undergraduate degree from the Harding University with a major in Public Administration.  In 1983 Mr. Vlahakis received his J.D. Degree from Vanderbilt University School of Law. The first 36 years of working as a lawyer, he worked at and became a partner at large and respected Insurance Defense law firms.  With the wealth of knowledge obtained working for large firms and large insurance companies, Mr. Vlahakis has chosen to spend the remainder of his legal career using his expertise, knowledge and relationships on behalf of those whose life has been changed due to suffering from of injuries arising out of their employment.  He has practiced law as a trial attorney, having handled personal injury and workers’ compensation and wrongful death matters related to work injuries, auto, and truck accidents.  Mr. Vlahakis is known and respected throughout the legal community by Insurance Defense attorneys and Claimant/Plaintiff lawyers alike as he has practiced against both for 37 years.  He is a highly skilled, detail-oriented attorney with excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills and comprehensive legal experience, knowledge and practice in personal injury.
